Presumption is Disrespectful

Presumption is Disrespectful

👊🏻 How many of you would walk into a strangers home without knocking first?
🤚🏼 Teachers: do you let your students talk without raising their hand and asking for permission?
🙋🏻 Do you email, message or add people to a list without having a conversation first?

Can you see where this is headed? Yeah, you feel me. I’m just boldly stating what everyone on LI is feeling these days.

One of my new favorite quotes is from Jamie Kern Lima‘s book, “Believe It”: “You might be temped to underestimate me, but let me save you some time… don’t.” Here’s Sandy’s version: “You might be tempted to Inmail me (or connect) with your latest offer that you presume I need or want, but let me save you some time…DON’T!”

I 💯 subscribe to Bob Burg Five Laws of Stratospheric Success. What do I mean by that? I am ALL about service to others. Others I know, like and trust. Others that align with my values and beliefs. Others who want my help and value what I provide to them. So the quickest way to ensure that you won’t get my support, collaboration or business is to presume you know me without ever having uttered an audible word. That’s just offensive, people. Knock that sh!t off!

When I work with you, we build trust, self-confidence and influence. We build relationships that last a lifetime. We conquer the world together! That can’t be found in an algorithm or bought from a list.

If you are interested in a meaningful conversation to build human connection and truly want to get to know me and have me know you, then by all means… step into my living room and let’s chat! Otherwise, scroll on by 😉
